WashingtonWatch.com Blog Debuts

“What better way to celebrate the founding of our nation than . . . um, by . . . blogging?”

So began the introductory post on the new WashingtonWatch.com blog, which debuted July 4th.

The blog will tie the bills in Congress to the day’s headlines, discuss the bills being debated on the House and Senate floor, and reveal some hidden stories. WashingtonWatch.com webmaster and blogger Jim Harper promises, “Oh, there’ll be jokes – and I’m telling you right now they’re not all going to be funny.”

The blog can be found at http://www.washingtonwatch.com/blog.

Appropriate for July 4th, the first blog entry discusses the inspiring story found on WashingtonWatch.com of an Army NCO who has taken Iraqi interpreters into his home. They served the U.S. military in Iraq and received special visas to come to the United States. He has helped them make their way in the U.S., and awaits three more who are on waiting lists, simply because “it’s the right thing to do.
