Our founding fathers knew that, given the opportunity, government would ALWAYS strive for more control over the citizens. It is the nature of (a fallen) mankind. Even if the initial intentions are good and honorable, ultimately, they WILL BE compromised and WE WILL LOSE more of our freedoms. Like the frog in the warm water on the stove. As the temperature is slowly increased, the frog doesn't notice the change and is eventually boiled to death. Look at the size of our government now. And most of it is managed by bureaucrats that have been assigned, not elected, to that position. Where does it end?

What is the right balance between our freedom and our security? That's a tough question, but my vote goes for more freedom and less security. The sky is not always falling...
