This is just one more program to send money to teachers whose total compensation typically is 35% greater than teachers in the private sector. Students can get the same information via various sites on the Internet or TV. The advantage of the letter is they will can be exosed to both sides of a subject, a condition not often found in modrrn U.S. public education. Remember that in cases where teachers are union members their first loyalty is not to informing their students but to increae their own financial benefits. An example is the mryiad of teachers who abandomed their classess in Wisconsin earlier this year in order to invade the State Capital building because their benefit programs, which were literally bankrupting local communitybudgets, were to be reduced.
