April 1, 2009, 12:23pm (report abuse)This bill is a must for Federal Firefighters. Please support it's passage in Washington.

June 27, 2009, 10:04am (report abuse)Prior military dominates the ranks of federal fire fighters. Please fight to give them the same rights as their civilian counter parts. Federal firefighters work 72 hours a week, not 48, make less $, and are required to have more certifications than most civilian departments.

September 24, 2009, 5:35pm (report abuse)I agree, with CT comments dated June 27, 2009 as federal fire fighters, are exposed to the very same dangerous chemicals, and sometimes more dangerous chemicals than our counter part city fire fighter brothers. And federal fire fighters fight the very same dangerous fires on mutual aid, and or automatic aid fire calls, to medical calls, to vehicle accidents, chemical fires, etc. And federal fire fighters are the only fire fighters the United States Goverment will allow to be hired overseas to provide fire protection in Iraq, and Afghanistan. So yes I agee and appluad not only the committee, but Homeland Security, and the U.S. Congess & House and Senate for there full support and passage of S-599, The 2009 Fereral Fire Fighters Fairness Act.
