Universal eduction?

It sounds like Hillary's free school for federal employees and the visa program for math students.

Universal education shouldn't be there. It's too political.

This is just a clone of the Hitler Youth Corps (aka Brown Shirts)

This is a needless and shameless expansion of gov't into the private sector. It is intended to undermine/control a perfectly fine private sector charitable network. Add to this Obama's tampering with tax deductibility of charitable donations, and the Obamanista plan is patently obvious.

Volunteerism in the United States has been/is alive and well. As stated in S. 277 \" to expand and improve opportunities for service\" There are a multitude of opportunities and no Federal intervention is needed or necessary.

I am an Americorps member. I helped educated and tutor children. I built houses and playgrounds. The government did not tell me what I needed to do, it was individuals and communities that asked for my help. This national service expansion will inspire and motivate people to be empowered and engaged citizen. I wish more people did research into Americorps, it is really insulting to compare what we do to the nazi youth camps.

Lauren, I respect your service and agree that volunteering is healthy. Before this bill, any American who wanted to do so could have volunteered wherever he chose. Now, our children are being forced to serve at a government-approved location. This bill represents yet another limitation on the freedoms we once enjoyed.
