January 16, 2009, 7:43pm (report abuse)I would vote for it, I think most Americans would... the only person I can think of that wouldn't is ... well... a career congressman

February 1, 2009, 7:36pm (report abuse)We already have term limits. They are called elections. When you want *your* guy to leave vote him out. Meanwhile, I like having a seasoned person fighting for my district, thanks.

February 5, 2009, 12:02pm (report abuse)@ joy: if what you say were true, then we wouldn't have career congressmen. we all know how this works, as they build power in their party they end up being the only one supported and financially backed year after year. otherwise known as corruption. there is also the very real problem of us not voting for "the new guy" because we don't know them well. this would force new blood, and new ideas into congress. just as no too presidents are alike, no two congressmen are alike, so it would allow us to vote who we wanted in instead of getting stuck with the same fuddy dudy every election

February 7, 2009, 6:00pm (report abuse)This is long overdue. We limit the terms for Presidents, the same would be beneficial to eliminate the professional, long term politicians who are more concerned about feathering their nest and self interests than serving the people.

February 7, 2009, 6:06pm (report abuse)Vote! Vote! Vote! Don't vote for an incumbant if they have not been doing a good job for you. However, to expedite the matter this is a Bill that is unfortunately necessary to limit the corruption that can happen when someone is addicted to power and is a career politician. It also provides a new/fresh voice for the US population given the ever changing world climate.

July 22, 2009, 2:46pm (report abuse)The United States of America do not need a Dictator or one party to lead this great Country. Once this is done the entire Constitution will be null and void. All indivual rights to Life, Libery and Pursuit of Happiness will be gone. Legislative, Art.1, Executive,Art.11 and Judicial, Art 111,is the balance of Power that makes the USA the home of Free People.

August 22, 2009, 11:23am (report abuse)It is about time we did something to control how long some of our congressional persons serve. Two three year terms would sufice, perhaps one five year term.

August 25, 2009, 6:03pm (report abuse)I have been wanting this to happen for a while. Two terms is plenty for them to be in office. Also, they should be on the same health care and social security program that "we the people" are on. The longer they stay in office, the more corrupt they are.

Let’s Amend the Constitution!
The beginning of a new Congress always sees a lot of bills that would propose amendments to the Constitution. That idea always starts with at least one strike against it - that document is not to be trifled with. But maybe there are some good ideas o...
