February 10, 2009, 6:21pm (report abuse)I think that this is a priority for the United States. It IS evident that we need to proceed from the industrial focus that this country has had for so many years and take the next step. The US has been the world leader in numerous fields over the course of its history and this is on that there is NO time to waste. We must remain the "brightest and the best" there is. This has the potential to help so so many of our family and friends it is hard to even comprehend.

February 10, 2009, 6:55pm (report abuse)Stem cells are the future. The United States needs to get involved like other countries are. There are companies in the United States like Advanced Cell Tech. that need government support and funding. They have the technology and patents.

February 10, 2009, 11:44pm (report abuse)DO NOT KILL , there are other stem lines that do not kill -- and technology triples every ten years. these stem lines will be obsolete anyway so don't open the door to wide on embryonic research, current and future technology will suffice

February 17, 2009, 5:31pm (report abuse)Please pass the law for federal funding for stem cell research. We have been waiting for a decade to see this bill made law. Stem cell research can change lives. Give the stem cell companies the funds they need to help Parkinson's, MS, and all the diseases that they can help. Advanced Cell Technology has research for macular degeneration that causes blindness. My mother lived the last 12 years of her life with this horrific disabling condition that possible could have been helped through stem cell research. These stem cell companies need federal funding and the ban lifted so that they can start to help all Americans with these disabling diseases. Please pass this law ASAP. President Obama promised to lift the ban on stem cell. Please do this for all the disabled people of this beautiful country called America. Thank You, Joy Hall Horn Lake Ms.

February 20, 2009, 2:42pm (report abuse)This isn't about killing babies! This is about saving lives! Yes, there are other stem lines, but they are not nearly as beneficial as embryonic stem cells.

May 24, 2009, 12:35pm (report abuse)Human embryonic stem cells are yesterday's news. The new future is in adult stem cells that are created from ordinary cells.
The creator of Dolly the sheep has completely abandoned cloning and human embryonic stem cells to go with the new technology!
Don't pass this law that continues to divide our country unnecessarily...the new technology is SAVING LIVES TODAY without killing human embryos. Get onboard with that.
