July 24, 2009, 4:27pm (report abuse)I have been teaching 2nd grade in Orland, California for nine years in a district with K-3 classes of 18-20. Because of the draconian state budget cuts, K-3 will have 27-30 students this year in a Title I school with over 80% free or reduced lunch and over 50% coming from homes that speak Spanish. If this bill cannot help California, we will be leaving a lot of students far behind where they would have been in a class of 18-20.
