Over my lifetime I have worked with a lot of folks who have reason to complain – the unemployed, the homeless, folks on welfare, terminally ill patients in a hospice. And not one of these groups has the intensity of whining that a bunch of veterans can generate. I really suspect that the veterans whine can be heard in outer space. It is that loud. Why don’t all of you moaning assholes take a break and go crawl in a hole someplace. Give the rest of us some time to recuperate from your constant pissing and moaning....

The VA?? I have been on the merry go-round for several years figthting for compensaton from VA and their examinations. I understand that they have a bunch of yahoos that rubber stamp our requests with no medical training what so ever. they know nothing. The examiners at the PAC, not reading your primary doctors reports where they have treated make a decision that you are not qualified for compensation. My examination for neuropathy and other Agent Orange, Diabetes related diseases was a five minute exam with a ball point pen touching me in different places, a dull touch or not. I for one drafting a letter to my Senator, The IG for Veterans Affairs in Atlanta, and the DAV for help. One request for heart has been, June 2007 after many exams, still nothing. After 22 years, Airborne all the way we deserve better from the VA....

Politicians are just jerking are chains. Veterans with under 20 years service who are 100 percent service disabled have no voice amoung our government. Every person that could help us finds some other issue that is more important than veterans. I am sick of being treated like day old trash. Someone needs to help sick and tired veterans with earning a decent living for our sacrifices. I did not choose to become disabled, the Navy chose that for me. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THOSE IT INJURES! Give us at least equal pay with our peers....

Medically retired 19 years 7 months 24 days with 50% disability. I am now 100% unemployable at 70% disability. No duel comp since I did not do 20 years, no dual comp since I am more than 50% disabled. Typical shaft form the government.

Retired USAF 20years, 40% disabled. I try to send letters to congress and any one I can to end the concurrent reciept for all veterans. It is not fair to pick in choose. The gov't is constantly ripping off who they choose. I will continue to fight. This issue is really impportant and will make a difference in veterans lifes all over. We all must continue to pull together. I will be happy for the Chp 61 Vets if they get it. They served just like us, Everyones degrees of injury are different.
This bill is more important since Obama only includes Chapter 61 folks in his 2010 Budget Request. The Obama folks stated it would take 45 billion to cover all for concurrent receipt, when in fact the VDBC web site states it would take only 19.26 billion to cover all of the 450,000 retired disabled veterans under 50% disabled over a ten year period. That is less than two billion a year. When this administration says it is pro veteran one had better think twice. Write your members of congress and ask them to support this legislation and point out that the Obama administration is cooking the figures and misrepresenting the 10-40% group of veterans as a larger cost burden than they actually represent. Seems this administration is more bent on the appearance of support rather than actual support for veterans. Looking for a cheap way out. Read the latest Tom Philpott article for the specifics. Obama folks do not support veterans in this issue they could at least get their facts correct....

I thought that it was the h.r.303 at first because the h.r.303 is similar to the one President Obama's proposing. I think that is going to be effective 1/1/2010.
I agree with K. Miller about all of us being divided into different groups. I'm retired with 21 years in the AF and now work as a railroad engineer for a company that doesn't want to see just one union. With two different unions they can have us fight against each other just like the polititians are doing to us with the wording in these bills. We all need to fight together just like when we were in and write letters, make phone calls, send emails, etc... Keep up the fight as those that didn't serve probably won't!...

First, ask the VA to reconsider your finding to get it bumped to 50%, second, at 22.5 years, why have you not applied for your CRDP/CRSC? CRDP=taxable, CRSC=Non-taxable)as far as back pay? I think not. Good luck. If I can provide more info, USMCRETIRED@COX.NET...

I was medically retired from service with less than 20 years, served as light infantry for 8 years before my kidneys failed. H.R.333 is the better one but unfortunately h.r.303 is the one that is going to pass, I've searched and googled at everything that Obama and the other public servants are requesting for the 2010 budget proposal. It looks to me that the one that is going to be law is h.r.303. So who ever is chapter 61 as me, go get your VA rating at 50% service connected. I know its hard not to complaint, but stop complaining. Mostly all of this politians that are not doing anything about it are only in office because of us, so next time we vote we get them ones that are doing nothing out of their duties and elect someone that we know is going to be there for us....

I'm not sure either one will actually make it, regardless of what the budget request had in it. The wording in the budget is different, depending on where you look.
