Well looks like we the BWN got it up the Butt again, Just like we did back in the 60's and 70's, and it does not look like it is going to change, The VA is waiting to all of us die off. And these folks in the VA will get theirs in the end, I just I hope I could be around to see it but I won't and they know that. The folks at VA are setting back at theit desk telling each other what a good job that they have done we screw the VETS of Viet Nam again that will teach they to do what they were told to do, and how they can die for what they did, AND NOW WE WILL GET OWER RAIS THIS YEAR....

LOOKS LIKE THE BILL 5892 VETERANS DISABILITY BENEFITS CLAIMS MODERNIZATION ACT OF 2008, INTRODUCED ON APRIL 24,2008 PASSED THE HOUSE,(BIPARTISAN SUPPORT) JULY 31, READ TWICE AND REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE ON VETERAN'S AFFAIRS. CAN BE READ AT BLUEWATERNAVY.ORG. NOW WE NEED TO GET 6562 THROUGH THE SENATE IN SEPTEMBER! PRAYERS TO ALL....

The V.A. wants a revision to the present law which will screw many veterans who can't prove they were exposed to any herbicides let alone agent orange. Write to your Congress person guys, the V.A. is crossing the line....

Sounded too good to betrue and I was right. This bill does not address U.S. Navy personnel on ships off the coast or in Harbors of Viet Nam. He is as ambiguous and Senator John MCcain. But McCain should know better, but then his is not dying from results of AO....

Congressman Bob Filner [D-CA], Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee is introducing the Agent Orange Equity Act of 2008 on Wednesday at noon, on the Cannon Terrace, Cannon Office Building, adjacent to the Capitol, Washington D.C. The bill will fully restore Agent Orange Presumption to Blue Water Navy Veterans and Air Force Veterans of the Vietnam War. [hooray!] It will override the recent decision in Haas, and do much more. this is open to the public, so be there If you can, to give support to the hard work being given by Congressman Filner....

Sen. Akaka's Agent Orange Equitable Compensation Act is anything but good for veterans. It does not extend benefits to Vietnam veterans, it revokes benefits for a certain class of Vietnam veterans - the so-called blue water Navy veterans. Just goes to show you how slick politicians such as President Bush can be by labeling proposed legislation in a very misleading way. Thank God for Congressman Bob Filner though and his proposed bill - The Agent Orange Equity Act of 2008 - that will restore benefits to blue water Navy veterans....

I SINCERELY HOPE THE SENATE WILL NOT PASS THIS BILL AS IT IS WRITTEN. IT TOTALLY LEAVES OUT VETERANS ON SHIPS, DYING FROM THE SAME DISEASES THAT THOSE ON LAND SUFFERED. MY HUSBAND IS ONE OF THEM AND IT IS THIS COUNTRY'S DUTY TO GIVE THE BENEFITS TO ALL ITS SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN. THIS BILL NEEDS TO INCLUDE THE VETERANS WHO SERVED OFFSHORE AS WELL AS THE ONES WHO "TOUCHED THE LAND"....

S. 2026 would amend title 38, United States Code, chapter 11, to clarify that an award of benefits based on a regulatory presumption established pursuant to 28 U.S.C. section 1116 after September 30, 2002, cannot be made effective earlier than the date the regulatory presumption was established; and to clarify that the presumption of herbicide exposure provided by 38 U.S.C. section 1116(f) applies only to veterans who served in Vietnam on land or on Vietnam's inland waterways and not to those who served only in waters offshore or in airspace above.

Detailed Summary

Agent Orange Equitable Compensation Act - States that awards of veterans' disability compensation based on a presumption of service-connection due to exposure to certain herbicide agents during service in Vietnam (Agent Orange compensation) shall not be effective earlier than the effective date of the regulation establishing such presumption.

States that, for purposes of such presumption, a veteran will be considered to have served in Vietnam only if the veteran was physically present on land in Vietnam or on its inland waterways, and not if the veteran served only on the waters offshore or in airspace above.
